Ure
A beginner / intermediate river, the section I usually run, Hack Falls to West Tanfield has two rapids, both short grade 3. A couple of weirs on the run can be dangerous at high levels, one of which featured in an early episode of '999'.

A very dry start to the year led the university to the Ure for its first beginner trip of the year. I took my regular role of video boater and bashed on ahead. Not the most exciting river in normal conditions the exceptionally low level meant that comentating for the video was about as exciting as it got. I always like to get out paddling though and did enjoy the day out.

The river was at a respectable level, had a bit of carnage at the slenningford mill rapid.
