    Spean Gorge

This section varies greatly with level, runnable at any levels it washes out at high flows but is a nice grade 4 when many other rivers are too low to run. The online guide describes it well.

Considering there was nothing coming out of Laggan Dam and very little water coming down the Roy, there appeared to be a magical source of water in Spean Gorge. Probably the best level I remember running this section at, all the rapids were in and fun. I even ran headbanger as it was at a friendly level, well friendly for headbanger.

Truely low levels meant walking some of the lead up to the spean gorge. Scouting out at the front with the video camera made the day more interesting, still fun but not much power in any of the rapids, 'constriction' was almost to narrow to fit a boat through.

I am sure I ran this section that year, doesn't hold any significant memories though.

Quite a big level, many of the rapids were washed out and constriction went a completely different way to normal. Pretty dodgy either way, there was at least one swimmer here. Photos are on the uni website
